Comps for my website

My comments.. I’m in a process of creating some kind of “rambling” leaves to “crawl” from the logo, but I’m not sure how this will turn out.

In the Gallery page there are just 3 albums, but eventually we will add more and to fit them - cover pictures on those albums will need to be smaller..

I was also thinking about putting the frame around enlarged picture inside of particular gallery..but it didn’t look good (for now)..

I like what you have so far. The idea about the “rambling” leaves is a good one, and I think it will break up the woodgrain image so the eye has other places to go.

I, too, am wrestling with a woodgrain image, which I’m trying to fit into a tiled background image to save file space. I don’t know if that is such an issue anymore with modems being as fast as they are today, but you never know. Good job!

I really like the wood frame design of your page. You captured the “feel” of a farm very well. The green gradient in the background is a good accent. too
I am not sure what you mean by the crawling leaves, but any movement might detract the sentiment of the page. I would not change it.
I also like the small frames around your images on your second page. Small details like that will make your page stand out. That is a motif that I would carry through out the site.

Nice work!

I like the stable theme, logo and green gradient background. The rambling leaves may soften the overall look too, which would be nice. How did you decide to create the wood rather than use a natural woodgrain image for the design?

My concerns if I were working with this design would be how to allow the page and stable frame to expand with more text. It looks like the side frames could be a repeating image to allow the page to grow in height with more copy or if the user enlarges the type. Is that your plan?

The text on the About Us page looks a little dark to me…you could try unbold, increasing the line spacing, decreasing the size and/or choosing a dark gray instead of black to see what works best at improving the look of the body text. I like that you tried the text over the photo effect, but not sure it works…what do you think?

I’m probably really asking for it to mention one more idea…but if you reduced the width of the navigation area to half the space between the nails and the logo, it might be more balanced and give you more space for content on the right.

I’m looking forward to seeing your finished site!
